The aim of  the RE-Generation International Youth Film Festival (RIYFF) Virtual Event is to wrap up another challenging year for young people, with a really joyous and uplifting event to lead them into 2023 as the Resilient and Empowered Generation – the RE-Generation, ready to face the coming year with a with a sense of hope, courage, and positivity.

The premiere event for the Virtual RIYFF is proudly sponsored by Eco Voice & Vass Productions and will be held at the Alex Theatre in St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia on Friday 9^th Dec 22. The live premiere will feature a special global curation of over 40 award-winning short films produced by both professional and emerging young filmmakers (mostly the latter) that inspire resilience, empowerment and hope for young people in these challenging times.

As part of the 8's and under session♦ the Premiere will open with the storytelling of 'An Antechinus in the Attic'  by multi-award-winning theatre director & SBN’s National Patron of the Arts, Gary Young OAM (Les Mis, Mama Mia, Mouse Trap, Wombat Stew and so many more on Gary’s list of sellout productions!) and the premiere will close with a celebration of Mother Earth from multi-Grammy® winning composer Ricky Kej. All general admission sessions have a combination of short animated, live action and documentary films for the whole family.

Following the inaugural standing-room-only short RIYFF event that received thunderous applause at the Melbourne Immigration Museum in August 22 (and which was part of the larger RE-Generation Youth Festival 1 day event), the RE-Generation International Youth Film Festival is going virtual & global - with an extended curation of heart-warming and thought-provoking short films for the whole family to enjoy - including live action, animation and mini documentaries. The virtual event will include Q&A's and workshops with industry professionals and filmmakers from around the world.

The RE-Generation International Youth Film Festival’s Virtual Event is a collaborative production of the School Broadcasting Network Inc (SBN, Melbourne, Aust), LA International Children’s Film Festival (LAICFF Los Angeles, USA) & One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest (OEYFC Chicago, USA) - featuring a fabulous selection of more than 60 award-winning short films produced by passionate young filmmakers from around the world.

The One Earth Young Filmmakers Academy is offering an exclusive opportunity of FREE REGISTRATION for Indigenous, remote, rural and home-school students from around the world to have access to their excellent on-demand workshops during the 3 days of the RIYF Festival only.
