Tylah Rose
Tylah Rose is a young 14 year old Singer/Songwriter from Queensland, Australia. Her singing style is Pop/Indie and Tylah started writing short stories at age 8. Her passion for singing led to write her first song at age 11 called ‘Take A Breath’ in conjunction with Jennifer Matthews and Paul Harris. This song has been successful on many levels from winning Songs Alive Australia ‘Bare Bones’ song of the year 2014 held at APRA earlier this year. Awarded top 10 in Music Australia MCUI and Australian Children’s Music Foundation songwriting competitions 2014, as well as taking out Somerset Young Composer 2014. ‘Take A Breath’ also won Tylah Queensland’s prestigious MTAQ Junior Composer for 2015 and Star Perfect future recording time for a Rock/Pop composition. The song was re-worked this year to reflect Tylah’s age and growth and current meaning of the song – don’t look back on your past, focus on what you are doing and don’t allow what others are doing or saying to influence – be an individual.
Tylah’s second song ‘Poppies’, written for 100th Anniversary of the ANZACS, won the hearts of Music Australia this year. Tylah was invited to co-write the 2015 Australian School Song for the Music Count Us In program with music legends Marcia Hines, John Foreman and Music Matters own Frank Dixon was sung by over 500,000 school kids last year called ‘Gold’. Also gigging with bands and a seasonal performer at Warner Bros Movie World, one of Tylah’s biggest highlight of 2015 was performing to crowds at Hard Rock and solo support act for X Factors ‘Marlisa’. With TV spots and radio airtime, Tylah is enjoying all that has come her way at the beginning of her musical journey.
A Top 10 recipient in the Australian Songwriting Association Awards, Folk Song of the year, and Top 30 Australian song of the year, Tylah is also a winner of the 2016 Awards at APRA for Songs Alive Australia ‘Acoustic Song of the Year’ for her song ‘Poppies’. She is currently working on her first EP and collaborating on some overseas projects and she is proud to share her song on the album and is hopeful the funds raised will help the charities and support those in need.
Tylah is most thankful to her mentors, past and current, which include Tiffani Wood (girl group ‘Bardot’) Enya Angel (international artist) Elisa James, Brad Rush, Sharon Rowntree as well as Bignote’s Jennifer Matthews and Paul Harris.
